<Isang Postcard Galing sa Italia>
Noong sinusulat ko
Ang bagong address ng
Bagong klinika
Umiyak siya
Hindi ko malaman
Kung iyan ay luha ng bagong biyuda
O luha sa tuwa
Sabi niya
Mabuti yan sa iyo
Ngayon ko lang sinulat
Ang bagong address
At ibinigay sa iba
Nais ko lang mangyari
Na bumisita siya
Sa bayan na palagi niyang sinasabi
Italia
At para sa akin
Sa bagong siyudad
Sa isang postcard na galing sa Italia
Makikita ko
Ang isang pangalan na kilala ko
當我寫下新門診的地址
她哭了
我不知道
那是新寡夫的眼淚
還是ㄧ種喜悅
她是說
我替你高興
這是我第一次
寫下新地址
也是第一次
遞給人家
只為了推她ㄧ把
去你心中嚮往的意大利
而我也能夠
在新城市
在一張明信片上
看到熟悉的名字

<Postcard from Italy>
As I write down
my new office address,
she cried.
I cannot tell
if it is tears of sorrow
of a new widow
or tears of joy.
She did say,
I am happy for you.
The only reason I wrote
and hand out the address
for the first time,
is to push her to that trip
of her dreams. It is something
for me to look forward to,
a familiar name
on a postcard from Italy,
in a new city.
